Help
Bane is built to be simple. Here is how it works, in three steps, then everything else in plain words.
Say what you want
Tell Banebot in plain words, or just say it out loud.
Banebot sorts it out
It reads the page and sets the whole thing up for you.
It runs itself
Fresh every day, and sent wherever you like.
What is a robot?
How do I make one?
Where can it send my list?
- Download: press a button and get a spreadsheet on your computer.
- Email: Bane emails the spreadsheet to you on a schedule.
- Google Sheet: your list appears in a Google Sheet you already have.
- Online shop: each row becomes a product in your shop (Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Square, Ecwid or Amazon).
- Your own website: for advanced users with a web address set up to receive a list.
How do I send products to my online shop?
New products are added hidden by default, so nothing goes live until you have looked them over. On most shops you can also choose to update prices on products you already have, matched by their code (SKU). Whatever key or token you give is kept locked away and is only used to add your products.
Amazon is a little different: it lists against products already in Amazon's catalogue, so your rows need a barcode (UPC/EAN) or an ASIN, plus a price. Rows without one are skipped and counted, so it is best for reselling items that already exist on Amazon.
How do I use a Google Sheet?
Can Bane show me what is trending?
Can Bane tidy up my shop?
What CAN Banebot do?
- Read any public list page. Point it at a page that shows products, prices, results or a table, and it turns the list into a tidy spreadsheet.
- Handle pages that build their list with a little program. If the list is not in the page itself, Bane opens the page in a real browser, waits for the list to appear, and reads it there. It just takes a bit longer.
- Understand plain words. At setup you can type or speak what you want ("email me the list every morning") and it works out the rest. You can also leave it blank and it will just collect the list.
- Run all by itself. Every hour, every day or every week (depending on your plan), without you touching anything.
- Send the list wherever you like. A download, your inbox, a Google Sheet, your own website, or straight into your shop.
- Fill your shop. Each row can become a product in Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Square, Ecwid or Amazon, added hidden by default so you check them first. On most shops it can also update prices on products you already have, matched by SKU.
- Keep only what you want. You choose which columns to keep and what to call them.
- Tell you how it went. Every robot keeps a history of its runs, with how many rows it found.
- Extras on bigger plans: keep stock matched across several shops so you never oversell, and show you what shoppers are searching for right now.
What can Banebot NOT do?
- Pages behind a password. If you have to sign in to see the page, Bane cannot see it either. It never logs in to anything.
- Follow links deeper. A robot reads the one page you give it. It does not click into every product for extra details. Give it the page that shows everything in one list.
- Get past blocks or puzzles. A few sites block all automatic visitors or show "prove you are human" puzzles. Bane politely gives up rather than trying to sneak past.
- Write or invent things on a schedule. The AI helps once, at setup (and when you ask for suggestions in Tidy up). Scheduled runs are exact and predictable: what is on the page is what you get.
- Change what a robot collects after it is made. You can rename it, pause it and change how often it runs, but to watch a different page or different columns, make a new robot (it takes a minute).
- Collect private or personal information. Only use it on pages anyone can see, that you are allowed to use.
